Start of the Season... It is the beginning of June and the main body of bigger striped bass have not shown its face yet. They should be showing up any day now. The fishing is still good it’s just that most of the fish are under the 28 inch legal limit. Also it is only one fish per day as far as the bass are concerned this season. Most of the fish are on the South edge of Billingsgate Shoals but this will change soon and they will move up on top and to the deep water off the North Edge. |
The Upcoming Season... The snow is blowing around outside and we are expecting more in a day or so. The fishing season seems so far off. It’s not, just a bit over 100 days away. Building two new rods this winter for light action mono trolling rods. They will have 15 lb. test line on the reels and will be used for both bass and bluefish. I hope to put them to use quite often. |
